Nature is supposed to be friendly, relaxing and green. Which it can be. But it can also be rendered otherwise, even in a slightly sinister manner. It’s interesting how different cultures have a different relationship with nature. Even within seemingly similar western countries, such as the UK, Australia or the United States, concepts of nature, the countryside, or pastoralism manifest in different ways – even within the urban, sanitised view of the countryside.
